Steven Ball

My History:
I was born in Las Vegas, NV but moved around a lot. After my parents divorced my
Mom, Aunt, and Grandmother raised me in Roswell, New Mexico.

As I grew up, I found my way in life as an engineer. Systems have always made sense to me.

God called me out of engineering and into vocational ministry. An experience I can only describe as awesome and crazy, all at the same time. My wife, Ahni, and I moved our family to Texas so that I could attend Seminary in Fort Worth.

In April 2015 the Lord sent me to Spring Valley Baptist church, here in Las Vegas. The adventure continues.

My Family:
I met Ahni in college … three weeks later we were married! After sixteen years of marriage I still think she is amazing. Every year our marriage gets better. Ahni serves beside me with love and dedication to the Lord.

During our marriage the Lord has blessed us with five amazing boys (Donald, Shadrach, Marcus, Carl, and Alexander). We like to describe our life as one big blessed mess.

My Heart:
I love diversity. I desire to worship with a multi-cultural and generationally integrated fellowship. No matter your background, I want you to worship with us.

I love missions. I want to see God’s people representing Jesus to the world, here in Las Vegas and around the globe. We go so that the world might know Jesus.

I love family. With five boys I understand the difficulties of raising children and maintaining a satisfying relationship with your spouse. I want to help your family continue on a healthy path in God’s service.

I love Vegas! Never imagined I would move back here, but we love it. So much opportunity to reach people for Jesus Christ exists in Las Vegas. Join me in making a difference.

My Education:
B.S. Mechanical Engineering.

M.S. Engineering Science with Specialization in Advanced Mechanics.

M.Div. with biblical languages (Greek and Hebrew).

D.Min. North American Missions and Evangelism.

My History:
I was born and raised in the south…the Deep South. My father was a pastor (still is) and I always enjoyed being a part of his ministry, but said that was something I would never do…never say never. God called me to full-time vocational ministry during my freshman year of college.

Over the next four and a half years of college life, God took my love for music and propelled me forward into many opportunities to serve Him using the gift of music as the vehicle for service. I began serving my first church at the age of 21 while in college and served with them until I completed seminary in New Orleans in 1988.

In October of 2013 the Lord extended the opportunity to join the ministry team at Spring Valley Baptist Church.

My Family:
I met Paige in my second place of ministry. She was and is a beautiful lady that has a love for the Lord and after a long courtship (she would tell you too long) we were married.  Paige has always been a great encourager for me in my ministry. Paige is an early childhood, special education teacher with the Clark County School District.
God has blessed us with two wonderful children (Kierstin and Brendan). They have been our joy and delight ever since God brought them into our lives.
My Ministry:

I  have had the opportunity to serve as a pastor for 30 years in the capacity of worship pastor, senior adult, student and children’s pastor and God has given me a heart to reach the lost for Christ. I have a Master’s in Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi.

I have had the opportunity to teach for New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary’s Leavell College church music certificate program, teaching and coaching worship pastors as well as serve as a music specialist for the Mississippi Baptist Convention and LifeWay Christian Resources. I have also served as a curriculum writer for the Children’s Music Series for LifeWay.

My family and I have been in Las Vegas since 2011 involved in equipping missional house group leadership, endeavoring to reach the Valley with the truth of hope found in Jesus Christ.
