Deacon Ministry Team

Michael is a software engineer for Enterprise Holdings. He married his wife, Cindy, in 1995. Michael and Cindy spent three years in China serving through the International Mission Board. Their daughter, Audrey, was born while they served and spent the last year there with them.

John grew up in Savannah, GA and became a Christian in 1982. He attended Armstrong State College receiving a BS degree in Computer Science. During his time in college he met his wife Rivanna (Ri). They married in 1983 and have two children Jessica (Chris) Dudley and Jamie Mobley.
They moved to Arizona in 1990 and then to Las Vegas in 2010 when John began working for UNLV. He is currently the Associate Director of Enterprise Applications. John is actively involved in the Worship Core Ministry Team where he leads the Media Ministry.

Doug Franks was saved when he was nine years old, about 63 years ago. He has been a member of a Southern Baptist church for almost all of his life. Doug is a D-Group leader, attends the men’s Bible study, and is a regular at one of the church’s small groups. He serves as liaison to the Joy Luncheon leaders, serves communion, and serves at many of the church’s events in whatever capacity is needed at the time. He is married to Mary Franks, also an involved church member, and has a step daughter, a strong Christian woman, who lives in the mountains of North Carolina. Doug and Mary have lived in Las Vegas for 26 years and have attended SVBC for over three years.


He worked in the sheet metal & air conditioning business for more than 50 years and fully retired in 2010.
Don was saved at Valley Baptist Church March 7, 1974 and baptized a week later. He joined SVBC January, 2002 and has been involved in AWANA’s 16 years; Children’s Sunday School Teacher 17 years; our Choir for 16 years; Men’s Breakfast 17 years and a Yokefellow/Deacon from 2005 to present.

He and Arlene have been active HOPE chaplains since 1997.

Terry grew up in Missouri and was saved at the age of 10. He has been a member of Spring Valley Baptist church for over 16 years and has been serving as a Deacon and adult Sunday school teacher since 2005.
Terry retired from the Henderson Police Department and over the last 9 plus years has been serving fulltime in the gospel ministry as a Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator.
Terry attended Golden Gate Theological Seminary and Andersonville Theological Seminary. He has received his Master of Theology and a Doctor of Biblical Counseling degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary in August of 2012.
Terry was ordained by Spring Valley Baptist church April 17th, 2016. He and his wife Olga have 3 adult sons, 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.

Leo has been a Christian for 27 years and is currently an usher during the 10:30 am service.
He is responsible for all coordination of the Lord’s Supper.
Leo is the Deacon responsible for SVBC Benevolence Program.
Leo and Annalloyd have been married for more than 30 years. They have one child, Alex Thomason who is a graduate student in Computer Science at UNLV.
Annalloyd and Leo have operated their own business for more than 30 years.

Mike retired after 41 years of manufacturing titanium metal. He is a widower after 50 years of marriage; his two children live in Los Angeles, CA and Jacksonville, FL.

Dale grew up in Utah lived two years in New Mexico, but has been in Nevada most of his life – 45 years.
He and Vicky have been married 24 years; they have four grown children and three grandchildren. He’s been a Christian since 1996. He and Vicky previously attended Calvary Chapel Spring Valley where he served as an elder for more than six years.
Ministries in which he’s involved are: Share Jesus without fear, Men’s Bible study, substitute Sunday School teacher, usher and deacon.
Dale retired after a 40 plus year career in media advertising, sales and management.

Richard Ziser was saved at the age of 12. He has been a member of SVBC for 19 years, and is currently a choir member, Sunday school teacher, small group leader and Chairman of the Deacons. Past church positions include Elder, pastoral search committees, church building committees and several denominational boards.
Richard also currently serves on the board of the Christian Business Network, the board of the Hastening (a mission’s mobilization ministry) and is an Area Director for the Gideons Intl. He is a former chairman of Nevada Concerned Citizens, a pro-family public policy organization and a former Chairman of the Coalition for the Protection of Marriage in Nevada.
