Next Steps….
3 Ways to Join The Church
  • Profession of faith and Baptism. This is when a person is making their first public, adult profession of faith in Christ as Lord and Savior. This does not necessarily mean that you are just becoming a believer at the time, but that you are now making your decision public, requesting baptism and membership.
  • Letter of Transfer. This is just a fancy way of saying that you are already a member of another church, and are simply wanting to move your membership to our church.
  • Statement of Faith. This option is for those who are neither making a first-time profession of faith OR transferring membership from another church. New members in this category are simply saying, “I’m not a new Christian, and I don’t have a current church membership but I want to be a member of this church.”

Typically, we receive people for membership at the end of the service during the “invitation” or time of response. During this time, you walk forward and tell the pastor you’d like to become a church member. We will have you fill out a small card with your contact information and affirm one of the paths to church membership. Coming forward at the end of the service allows all the other members to greet you and celebrate with you.

If standing in front of a crowd is terrifying to you, contact the pastor and we will work something out.

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ways throughout the life of our church. Find a place to plug in and serve.

How Do I Meet People?

Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy parent, or a businessperson with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow here at Spring Valley.
Small Group
Small groups allow an opportunity for people to interact and learn in a more intimate setting. Group size typically range from six to twelve people and meet in homes. Meeting days and times vary to allow all people an opportunity to participate.
Youth & Children’s Ministry
Each Sunday morning, youth and children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in ways to encourage every person to learn and connect. Every teacher is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The youth ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with students.
Young Adults
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more. The young adult groups of our church provide a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.
Women’s Ministry
The Women’s Ministry gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s ministry offers a weekly Bible study & prayer time on Thursdays. These times provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church. We also have a Ladies Night In every other month that allows the ladies a time of fellowship and learning.
Men’s Ministry
Join us every other month on the first Saturday for breakfast as well as a time of worship and encouragement. Our desire is for the men of the church to come together for a time to build relationships and challenge each other in their walk with the Lord, encourage each other to service and build up the family of faith here at Spring Valley.
Married Couples
Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The church gives married couples the opportunity to join small groups that offer topics such as Marriage and Money, Getting Ready for Kids, Shepherding Children, and Marriage and Sex.
Over 50’s
Once 50 is in the rear view mirror, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of Spring Valley gathers for refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. Join us bi-monthly for our JOY (Just Older Youth) luncheon and discover more about activities just for you.
